5. emm. lagi? ada lagi. tapi nanti entri jadi super panjang. pakcik2 & orang2 yg belajar maths & science dalam bahasa melayu dulu pun boleh glory sekarang what.
apa2 pun, ilmu memang penting. belajar dengan bersungguh2 kunci kejayaan. [sy berwawasan hari ini ok]
* * * * *
kejap lagi kena balik kolej. uh. malas sungguh.
hari tu tengok blog islami, tersentap tengok 4 case write-upSSSS beliau yg sudah siap bind!! woho. sy punya baru siap print 3 cases. 1 lagi belum start langsung. [adoih. padan muka, siapa suruh jadi pemalas]
angah cakap Kyle XY season 3 akhirnya menjadi xbest. [ish. xboleh jadi.]
wink wink ~.^

Hye,
Yupz, i totally agree with haiza-leen, sy sgt teruk berbahasa inggeris dan i was realized that english is the most important thing in communication skill when u ur in the working environment so for me xsalah if PPSMI diteruskan demi melihat bangsa Melayu terus maju ke depan, tp harus diingat bahawa bahasa Melayu turut tidak akan dilupakan malah bahasa Melayu harus seiring membangun bersama bahasa Inggeris..Jika saudari, berminat mungkin saudari boleh membaca sedikit ulasan drpd mantan Perdana Menteri kita, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad di : http://chedet.co.cc/chedetblog/
to haiza-leen & mosaic1809:
However, i personally believe that, to learn science and mathematic in english will bring more harm than good to the future generations of Malaysia.
I doubt that there will be any family in that area that use english in their daily lives, even for a very decent amount. Even the very educated families in that area do not use english extensively at home. And this is not only true at my place. I believe that it will just be the same in other areas where most of the residents are petani, penoreh, peneroka dan nelayan.
In any field of studies, the basic foundation is very important. For science and maths, we start to build our foundation when we were in primary school. This is the period where it is very2 important to make sure that the students understand what they were taught about. If this is not done, it will be very difficult for them to move on to a higher level when they reach secondary school or tertiary education level. Now, ask yourself, will there be a solid foundation of science and math if it is taught in a language, different than what they use in everydays life? Will the foundation be stronger if it was taught in their own langauge instead? And HAIZA-LEE, u mentioned that it is difficult for you to learn english at your age. it is not because of your age i supposed. It is because your english foundation when you were in primary school was not good enough. I am studying in an english speaking country at the moment. surprisingly, it does not make any difference to my english proficiency at all. Blame it on my foundation!. But, i am still thankful that i learned Math and science in my own language when i was in primary school. That gave me a very good basic foundation of math and science. Or otherwise it will just be as bad as my english. Tunggang terbalik!
It is undeniable that some of our children will benefit extensively from learning maths and science in english. But, a vast majority of them wont. And most of them are malays and bumiputras. I always believe that children of ours do have the best brain in the world. but if the medium of transmission is not correct, it will render it to be useless.
The level of english proficiency in our country is still considered primitive. it is growing though, as more people started to realise its importance. but, i dont think that we are ready to implement this PPSMI in our country as yet. There will be time, perhaps one day, when english is used extensively in our community, and that will be the right time to start this PPSMI. the time is absolutely not now.
To MOSAIC1809, it is a bias, in any arguments, to look into one side only without comparing it to the other side. Obviously Dr Mahathir will defend PPSMI. And he does have a strong reason for that. I remember watching an interview session with Professor Diraja Ungku Aziz, at TV3 about 3 years ago. He was asked a few questions regarding our education system. He was thrown about 8-10 questions at that time, and he was not answering the question at all, but rather kept on talking about the importance of language in education. everyone who watched that session will understand that he was referring to PPSMI. Remember that Prof Diraja ungku aziz is a very important educationist in our country. He managed to put University Malaya among the top 100 university in the world when he was a vice chancelor. His words mean alot!
A few weeks ago, a politician (i cant remember which one, sorry) mentioned that the efficiency of PPSMI is still vague as it is done only for a few years up until now. he said it requires at least 15 years before we know whether it is effective or not. Fair enough. But, how many children do you think will involve in this 15 years experiment of an education system? Millions!!. What if it fails? Then, millions of our children aka future generations will be the victim. This is dangerous. I am not taking the risk.
I think i need to stop now. Saida will be mad at me if i write longer then her own blog entry. i dont like arguing, but this one topic, is certainly not right to me and i need to voice my views. Perhaps you guys can discuss it in your blogs. and i will leave some comments if i have time. (kasik gaya karam singh siket) Bye bye
dear everyone,
thanks 4 your comments here.
i m against PPSMI.
PEACE!!
em em.
encik angah memang berwawasan.
